Dorinda Keenan Borer is a resident of our community who has been giving back to her city for her entire life. Born and raised in West Haven, Borer received her B.S. in Business Administration and Management at Southern Connecticut State University and her M.B.A. from the University of New Haven..

As a State Representative Dorinda has been a true champion for West Haven, never giving up on our goals and keeping us moving towards progress:


In recent years Dorinda has proactively sought, advocated and secured critical funding for our City. That list includes: 



  • $2 Million for new sewer stations & beach bathrooms
  • $1.5 Million for a Downtown investment
  • $3.5 Million for the floodgates & pedestrian bridge
  • $1.2 Million for the Lake Street Beach erosion
  • $880,000 for a new Police Station & vehicle communication system. 
  • $300,000 to upgrade our Animal Shelter in 2023
  • $400,000 in Youth Outreach Programs
  • $50,000 for the West Haven Military Museum
  • $5.2 Million for Beach Street
  • $200,000 for the Boardwalk Restoration Project
  • $250,000 for the Historic Steeple on the Green
  • $100,000 for the Historic Society
  • $690,000 for the West Haven Community House
  • $250,000 for the W.H.E.A.T. Food Pantry
  • $400,000 for new playgrounds at Mackrille & Seth Haley
